Game Intro

Dice as swords, conquer the land — a hexagonal territory war blending luck and strategy.

什么是Dice War?

Dice War is a territory conquest strategy game based on hexagonal maps. Players compete on randomly generated hexagonal battlefields, using dice rolls to determine territory ownership. The rules are elegantly simple — select your territory, choose your target, roll the dice — but behind this simplicity lies infinite strategic depth. Every roll is a clash of luck and wisdom, every attack a balance of risk and reward.

The game draws inspiration from classic dice battle and territory conquest board games, but uses digital implementation for faster computation, smoother experience, and richer strategic layers. Whether it's a five-minute casual match or a hours-long deep contest, Dice War delivers a unique experience every time. No lengthy rulebooks, no long setup — just open your browser and battle.

Core Mechanics

Dice War's core loop revolves around three keywords: Attack, Reinforcement, Connection. Each turn, you select a territory with 2+ dice as your launch point and attack an adjacent enemy territory. Both sides roll all dice simultaneously — the higher total wins. If the attack succeeds, your dice advance to occupy the new territory; if it fails, the attacking territory retains only 1 die.

At the end of each turn, the system distributes reinforcement dice based on your largest connected territory. The bigger the connected area, the more reinforcements you receive each turn. This means expansion isn't just about capturing more territory — it's about building larger connected networks for sustained military supply. A complete game typically lasts 5 to 15 minutes, with tight pacing and strategic tension.

Attack

Select territory to attack, roll dice to determine the outcome

Reinforce

Larger connected areas earn more dice each turn

Connect

Keeping territories connected is key to sustained reinforcements

Eight Factions

Dice War supports 2 to 8 players in simultaneous competition. Each player has a distinct faction color and dice visual style, clearly identifiable on the hexagonal battlefield. From 2-player duels to 8-player free-for-alls, the game scale is entirely up to you. Fewer players mean tighter, more critical decisions; more players create complex dynamics and shifting alliances. Different player counts deliver distinctly different strategic experiences.

Random Maps, Endless Matches

Every match generates a unique hexagonal map. Territory count, shape distribution, and initial faction placement are all randomly determined, ensuring you never play the same game twice. Map size and player count directly affect game pacing and strategy — smaller maps are faster with more concentrated conflict; larger maps offer more room for expansion and strategic depth.

The design philosophy behind random maps is "fair uncertainty" — while the initial layout is unpredictable, all players start under the same map conditions. Victory depends on strategic choices, not luck. Every match is a fresh challenge, every time requiring you to adapt your strategy to the terrain in real time. This is the replay value of Dice War.

Victory Conditions

The victory condition is simple and clear: eliminate all opponents and claim the entire continent. When only your color remains on the map, you are the conqueror of Dice War. This straightforward condition drives the fiercest battlefield competition — no point rankings, no secondary objectives, only ultimate unification. This gives every match a sense of urgency and purpose.

In multiplayer matches, eliminated factions are removed from the game, and remaining factions continue until only one stands. As opponents are eliminated, the battlefield dynamics shift dramatically — yesterday's ally may become today's rival, and restructured borders create new strategic opportunities. This dynamic evolution keeps the late game just as exciting.

Smart AI Opponents

Don't want to wait for friends? Dice War includes smart AI opponents so you can enjoy strategic gameplay anytime. The AI features complete decision-making logic: it evaluates attack win rates, prioritizes weak targets, distributes reinforcement dice wisely, and protects key connected territories. At higher difficulties, AI expansion speed and decision accuracy increase significantly, providing a real challenge for experienced players.

AI behavior isn't scripted — it makes dynamic decisions based on real-time battlefield conditions. It adjusts attack priorities based on the current map layout and makes rational strategic choices in multi-faction wars. This means every game against the AI feels different — it won't repeat the same patterns, requiring you to adapt flexibly in each match.
